Malaysia’s SEA Games CDM visits esports and athletics teams

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, April 8, 2022: Malaysia’s Chef de Mission for the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Vietnam next month, Dato’ Paduka Nur Azmi Ahmad, visited the esports and athletics teams on Thursday, April 7 to discuss their preparations.

He was accompanied by Mdm. Afrita Ariany Nasril, Deputy Chef de Mission, and officers from the Olympic Council of Malaysia and National Sports Council.

The Chef de Mission and Deputy Chef de Mission were introduced to the athletes and officials of both teams as they continued their build-up to the SEA Games, which will run from May 12-23 in Hanoi and 11 neighbouring districts.

The esports team comprises 23 athletes and three coaches and will compete in three events: Arena of Valor, League of Legends and Free Fire. 

The OCM reports that the athletes and coaches are comfortable with the training facilities provided at the National Sports Council and that the team is very confident to contribute medals, at least one gold, for the Malaysian contingent.

The track and field team comprises 16 athletes and five coaches who are staying and training within the bubble of Bukit Jalil Sports Complex.  The medal target of the athletics team will be announced later.
