Philippines NOC President joins cycling rally to mark International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

Manila, Philippines, April 8, 2022: The President of the Philippine Olympic Committee, Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino, took part in a cycling rally to celebrate International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6 in the historic Intramuros walled city district of Manila.

The rally was part of the Terre de Jeux 2024 – the “Land of the Games” 24-hour global sports relay organised by the French government to celebrate the United Nations-sponsored special day and also the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

“Earlier today we had a ceremonial relay of the baton for the 2024 Paris Olympics event by the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia - 3km run and bike ride headed by the French Ambassador to the Philippines, Michèle Boccoz,” the POC President posted.

“The celebration included the Philippine national cycling team and POC Vice President, All Panlilio. Happy International Day of Sport for Development and Peace!”
