Jordan's national karate team train with counterparts from Algeria and Chile at JOC centre

Amman, Jordan, April 7, 2022: The Chilean national karate team have arrived in Jordan for a joint training camp with the national squad of Jordan at the Olympic Preparation Centre of the Jordan Olympic Committee.

The Jordan national karate team, which had been in a two-week joint training camp with a 20-strong Algerian national team that ended on Monday, April 4, will now continue training with the South Americans for a further two weeks.

Muhammad Ibrahim, national coach of the Jordan team, stressed the importance of training alongside two national teams, from Africa and South America, each with a different style of karate.

Coach Ibrahim said: “The camp is proceeding perfectly and all the athletes are committed. The presence of a camp like this confirms the development of karate in Jordan and builds on the reputation it enjoys at an international level.”

Jordan is preparing for the second round of the World League which will be held in the Portuguese city of Matosinhos from April 22-24.

The Algerian national team is preparing for the Mediterranean Games, which will be held in the Algerian city of Oran from June 25 to July 5, while the Chilean national team is preparing for the South American Championships in the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao from May 26-28.
