Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, March 24, 2022: The Acting President of the Olympic Council of Asia, Raja Randhir Singh, visited Riyadh on March 21-22 accompanied by Mr. Husain Al Musallam, Director General OCA, and Mr. Vinod Kumar Tiwari, Director International and NOC Relations.
The OCA delegation attended a meeting with the Riyadh 2034 Asian Games Organising Committee and were given an update on preparations by the Secretary General of the Organising Committee, HRH Prince Fahad Jalawi Al Saud.
Following the Asian Games update, the Acting President OCA signed the Host City Contract with the City of Riyadh, represented by the Deputy Governor HRH Prince Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud, and the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) represented by its President HRH Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal Al Saud, to host the 7th Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games in Riyadh in 2025.
The signing ceremony took place at the Riyadh Green Halls in the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Olympic Complex.
Prince Abdulaziz offered his gratitude to the custodian of the two holy mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and HRH Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for their unconditional support of Saudi sports in a manner that contributed to placing Saudi Arabia in the front line of advanced countries in sports.
He also offered his gratitude and appreciation to HRH Prince of Riyadh Province for signing the hosting contract, and for Raja Randhir Singh and the Asian Olympic family for their trust in Saudi Arabia and Riyadh to be the home of this prestigious Asian sporting festival.
HRH affirmed that Saudi sport had moved forward globally by becoming the host of several world sporting events and championships, most notably the 2034 Asian Games and the 2023 World Combat Games.
“HRH confirmed that hosting the 7th AIMAG in 2025 is the beginning of our journey of holding several Asian competitions in the years to come. We also look forward to this edition to witness exciting matches during the Games,” the SOPC said in a statement.
Riyadh was awarded the 7th AIMAG 2025 during the 40th OCA General Assembly in Dubai last November.
Thailand is hosting the 6th AIMAG in 2023 at Bangkok and Chonburi.
