A royal occasion at Malaysia NOC awards night

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, December 19, 2019: The 26th Olympic Council of Malaysia Annual Dinner and Awards Night was held on Thursday, December 19 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah and Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mustawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj were the royal guests of honour. The other VIPs who attended the event were Y.B. Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (Minister of Youth and Sports), Y.A.M. Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja'afar (Hon. Life President of OCM and IOC Hon. Member), Dato' Sri Mohamad Norza Zakaria (President of OCM) and members of the OCM Executive Board. During the Annual Dinner and Awards Night, a number of awards were presented to the following: 1. IOC TROPHY “SPORT AND SUSTAINABLE ARCHITECTURE” AWARD: • Perbadanan Stadium Malaysia (PSM) 2. INDUCTION INTO OCM HALL OF FAME 2019: a. Almarhum Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar Ri’ayatuddin Al-Muadzam Shah (Football) b. Dato’ Sieh Kok Chi (swimming and OCM) c. Dato’ Roland Wong Choon Tat (badminton) d. Lt. Gen. Dato’ Seri Panglima Abdul Manap Ibrahim (rtd) (hockey and SUKOM 98) e. Mr. S.A. Azman (tennis) 3. OCM WOMEN AND SPORT AWARD 2019: • Tok Puan Zainon Dato’ Hussein (hockey) 4. OLYMPIAN OF THE YEAR AWARDS 2019: • Loh Choon How, who won two gold medals in wushu - men’s taijiquan and men’s taijijian at the 30th SEA Games Philippines 2019 • Farah Ann Abdul Hadi, who won three gold medals in gymnastics - women’s individual all-around, women’s uneven bars and women’s floor exercise at the 30th SEA Games Philippines 2019. The finale was the presentation of the Royal Special Award 2019 to His Majesty the King in recognition of his commitment and contribution towards sports in Malaysia. The award was jointly presented by the President of OCM and four Olympic Games medalists: Mr. Rashid Sidek (badminton, Atlanta 1996), Mr. Cheah Soon Kit (badminton, Atlanta 1996), Dato’ Lee Chong Wei (badminton, Beijing 2008, London 2012 and Rio 2016) and Ms. Pandelela Rinong Pamg (London 2012 and Rio 2016).
