Japan’s Muraoka extends winning streak with second gold at Winter Paralympics

Beijing, China, March 7, 2022: Momoka Muraoka continued her golden run as she secured her second Winter Paralympic title at the Yanqing National Alpine Centre.

Japan’s 25-year-old Para Alpine skier, who had won the women’s downhill sitting gold on Saturday, ended atop the super-G event on Sunday, March 6 with a time of 1 minute 23.73 seconds.

“When I look back on the race today, I feel I could have done mre, but I got the gold medal so I’m really happy,” Muraoka said.

Germany’s two-time PyeongChang 2018 champion Anna-Lena Forster (1:23.84) came in second and China’s Zhang Wenjing took the bronze (1:24.31).
