Maldives Olympic Committee names Hussain Mohamed as Asian Games CDM

Male, Maldives, February 24, 2022: Hussain Mohamed, manager of the South Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organisation, has been appointed as Chef de Mission of Team Maldives for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou.

 

This will be the second time that Hussain will be in charge of the national contingent in a multi-sport Games having been Chef de Mission at the 2010 Commonwealth Games held in New Delhi, India.

 

With his appointment, Hussain will be responsible for Team Maldives at the Hangzhou showpiece from September 10-25, 2022, ensuring that athletes and officials have all amenities they require to perform at their best.

 

Team Maldives is expected to be represented by more than 100 athletes and officials in Hangzhou, making it the biggest international sporting event of the year for the Maldives Olympic Committee.

 

Hussain, who is a member of the Maldives Olympic Committee’s Education and Culture Commission, is a graduate of the Executive Masters in Sports Organisation Management.

 

He was also among the first group of people who were trained by the MOC as qualified course directors to conduct Basic and Advanced Sports Administrators Courses.
