Beijing, China, February 20, 2022: The Lebanese Olympic Committee has signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Olympic Committee which will forge closer sporting ties between the two NOCs.
The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Chinese Olympic Committee on Saturday, February 19, by the President of the Lebanese Olympic Committee, Boutros Edmond Jalkh, and COC Vice President Li Yingchuan. Also present at the ceremony was Secretary General of LOC, General Hassan Rustom.
Vice President Li expressed his happiness at the agreement and said it emphasised the durability of the existing relationship between the people of the two countries which would now be extended by strengthening sporting ties.
On his part, President Jalkh thanked the Chinese government, the people of China and the NOC for supporting Lebanon in all spheres including sports. He said the agreement would benefit Lebanese sports which could gain immensely from the experience of China.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. Both President Jalkh and Secretary General Rustom attended the Opening Ceremony on February 4.
