IOC Session elects five new Members

Beijing, China, February 19, 2022: The 139th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) resumed its proceedings in Beijing on Saturday, February 19 with several rounds of elections.

Following the recommendations made by the Executive Board (EB) in December 2021 and on February 18, 2022, the Session elected five new IOC Members for a term of eight years. 

*Yiech Pur Biel (IOC Refugee Olympic Team athlete and manager)

*Danka Barteková (Slovakia)

*David Lappartient (France – President, International Cycling Union - UCI)

*Martin Fourcade (France – new member of IOC Athletes’ Commission)

*Frida Hansdotter (Sweden – new member of IOC Athletes’ Commission).
