Bahrain and Oman further discuss sports agreement between two countries

Manama, Bahrain, February 10, 2022: A high-level delegation from Oman arrived in the Bahrain capital Manama on Wednesday, February 9, to further discuss and develop the recent sports accord signed between the two countries.

Last month, the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the General Sports Authority, HH Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, met with Oman’s Crown Prince and Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Al Haitham Al Saeed, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in sports.

The Bahrain General Sports Authority and Omani Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth signed an executive sports programme to activate cooperation in the sports field.

The agreement was signed by the BOC President, Sheikh Khalid, and Oman’s Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth, Sayyid Theyazin.

The terms of the agreement included holding joint training camps, exchanging programmes to train and qualify national athletes, exchanging experiences in sports medicine, holding friendly competitions and implementing joint programmes to promote sports tourism between the two countries.

The Omani delegation was met by Sheikh Khalid and other senior officials from the General Sports Authority.
