Hong Kong, China NOC awards 10 Panasonic scholarships for Hangzhou 2022, Paris 2024

Hong Kong, China, February 8, 2022: The Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and the Shun Hing Group jointly announced the 10 awardees of the Panasonic Sports Scholarship Programme for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games. 

 

The 10 awardees are Jessica Ching Siu Nga (athletics), Angus Ng Ka Long (badminton), Ryan Choi Chun Yin (fencing), Coco Lin Yik Hei (fencing), Chiu Hin Chun (rowing), Ho Ian Yentou (swimming), Ho Kwan Kit (table tennis), Lee Ho Ching (table tennis), Eudice Chong Wong (tennis) and Oscar Coggins (triathlon). 

 

Under the programme, each of the awardees will receive a 32-month subsidy of HK$345,600 (USD 44,300) in total from January 2022 to August 2024 supported by Shun Hing Group.  

 

The scholarship offers 10 athletes financial support to better prepare for the qualifying competitions and possibly in the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympics Games through financial support towards specialized coaching services, the cost of their local/overseas training, medical assistance and other items that would assist the athletes. 

 

“SF&OC expresses our sincere gratitude to the Shun Hing Group for their generous contribution towards Hong Kong sports development, and conveys our heartfelt congratulations to all awardees,” the Olympic Committee said in a statement. 

 

“We hope the scholarship will help them concentrate on their training, and strive for excellence in Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”
