Upon the request by the organisers, FairBreak Global, Bhutan Cricket submitted the names of five female cricketers from the national squad along with their video clips and left-arm fast bowler Gurung was picked by the selectors.

Bhutan Cricket chief executive officer, Damber Gurung, said: “It is great news for our women’s cricket and for many associate member countries like Bhutan to get such an opportunity to display their talent.”

A total of six teams will compete with players from full member and associate member countries participating.

Anju Gurung said: “As a cricketer, we always look to play on such big stages and platforms and I am really looking forward to playing. I would like to thank Bhutan Cricket for giving me this pathway and opportunity.”

In the recently concluded ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia qualifier held in Dubai, Anju Gurung was the second leading wicket taker in the tournament.
