Beijing, China, February 5, 2022: Japan put their first medal on the board at Beijing 2022 when freestyle skier Ikuma Horishima took bronze in the men’s moguls at Genting Snow Park in Zhangjiakou on Saturday night.

Horishima, 24, scored 81.48 points to finish third behind Sweden’s Walter Wallberg (83.23) and Canada’s PyeongChang 2018 champion Mikael Kingsbury (82.18).

The two-time Asian Winter Games champion from Sapporo 2017, in moguls and dual moguls, said he was happy with his bronze medal – “but my goal is to get an Olympic gold medal, so I’ll continue to aim for that.”
