Beijing, China, February 1, 2022: Although the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics will not take place until Friday, February 4, the action starts two days earlier.

Luge will feature the first two training runs in men’s Group A and B, while curling will bring the start of the eight-team mixed doubles event with four matches, including China v Switzerland. All four games start at 8.05pm on the four curling sheets inside the Ice Cube, which has been converted from the Water Cube in use at the Olympic Games in 2008.

China has made three appearances in Olympic curling. They competed in the women’s event in 2010, 2014 and 2018, the men’s event in 2010 and 2014 and the mixed doubles in 2018. Their best finish was the bronze medal earned by their women’s team in 2010.

The other six teams in the mixed doubles round robin competition are Sweden, Great Britain, Australia, United States of America, Norway and Czech Republic.

The top four will qualify for the semi-finals on Monday, February 7, with the bronze medal match and final the following day.
