Beijing, China, January 31, 2022: Eighteen National Olympic Committees from the Olympic Council of Asia will be competing in the Beijing Winter Olympics from February 4-20.
Host nation China will have the biggest team with 174 athletes, followed by Japan with 124 and Korea with 64.
Of the 174 Chinese athletes, 86 are female and 88 are male, while Japan’s team comprises 75 female athletes and 49 male athletes.
Korea’s 64 is 30 female and 34 male athletes, while Kazakhstan’s team of 34 achieves perfect gender equity with 17 female and male athletes.
With the total number of athletes from the 18 NOCs at 424, gender equity has been more than achieved with 218 female athletes and 206 male athletes.
