Chinese Taipei NOC celebrates 2019 achievements

Taipei, December 14, 2019: The Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee held the 2019 year-end celebration on December 6. The event highlighted the CTOC’s preparation work for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with two visits to Japan to provide the best conditions and support for the athletes. This included an inspection of the host town base and sports venues as well as meetings with the Tokyo 2020 organising committee. A third visit will collect more updated information on sports and venues to benefit the athletes in 2020. Another highlight was the team uniform of the Chinese Taipei delegation for the 1st ANOC World Beach Games in Doha in October and the Arafura Games, together with the promotion materials the NOC has produced and published for the Olympic Movement. “It has been an eventful year for the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee and the Sports Administration of the Ministry of Education. With the support of the Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, CTOC was able to strengthen our relationship with the local community, sponsorship partners, diplomatic offices and many more,” said Mr. Hong-Dow Lin, President of CTOC. Other events celebrated included the Olympic Day Run, the 9th edition of the International Sports Affairs Training Course, participation in the Arafura Games and ANOC World Beach Games, the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements with five NOCs (Vietnam, Indonesia, Hong Kong-China, Greece and Saint Lucia) and the awarding of “Prize Athena” from the International Olympic Academy.
