Team Mongolia heads to Beijing after flag handover ceremony

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, January 31, 2022: The flag handover ceremony for Team Mongolia at the Olympic Winter Games took place on Sunday, January 30, the day before the delegation heads for Beijing.

Mongolia will be represented by two athletes at the Beijing Winter Games, both in cross-country skiing.

Achbadrakh Batmunkh, 27, will be competing in his second Winter Olympics after finishing 97^th in the men’s 15km freestyle at PyeongChang 2018. He carried the flag in the opening ceremony four years ago in Korea.

Enkhtuul Ariunsanaa, 26, will be competing in her first Winter Olympics after her place was confirmed by the International Ski Federation earlier this month.

The flag presentation ceremony was held on a small scale due to covid restrictions.
