Malaysia NOC confirms two athletes for Beijing 2022

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, January 19, 2022: The Olympic Council of Malaysia has confirmed that two athletes will take part in the Winter Olympics in Beijing from February 4-20.

The OCM is busy coordinating the Malaysian contingent to Beijing 2022, marking Malaysia’s second appearance in the Winter Olympics after making their debut at PyeongChang four years ago.

The two athletes for Beijing 2022 are alpine skiers Jeffrey Webb, who competed in Korea in 2018, and Aruwin Idami Salehuddin, who will be making her Olympic debut. Webb will compete in the men’s slalom and Aruwin in the women’s slalom and giant slalom.

“We are very proud to note that both Jeffrey Webb and Aruwin Salehhuddin have officially qualified for the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022,” said the OCM President, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri (Dr.) Mohamad Norza Zakaria.

“On behalf of the OCM, I wish both of them every success in their respective events with full Olympic spirit.”
