Indian Olympic Association appoints wushu president as CDM for Hangzhou Asian Games

New Delhi, India, January 12, 2022: The Indian Olympic Association has appointed the President of the Wushu Association of India, Bhupender Singh Bajwa, as Chef de Mission for the Hangzhou Asian Games 2022.

The announcement, which was made on Tuesday, January 11 by IOA President Narinder Dhruv Batra, will see Bajwa head the country’s contingent for the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China from September 10-25.

The IOA also announced that senior IOA Vice President Rakesh Anand has been appointed Chef de Mission for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games from July 28 to August 8.

Also appointed as deputies to Bajwa at the Asian Games are the Secretary General of the Badminton Association of India, Ajay Kumar Singhania, Bengal Olympic Association President Swapan Banerjee, Goa Olympic Association Secretary General Gurudatta Bhakta and Netball Federation of India executive board member Hariom Kaushik.
