Singapore, January 6, 2022: The Southeast Asia Regional Anti-Doping Organisation (SEARADO) has congratulated the anti-doping authorities in Thailand for gaining a regional “first” in the fight against doping in sport.

The Doping Control Agency of Thailand (DCAT) has received a certificate of approval from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), issued by the Management System Certification Institute (Thailand).

DCAT was assessed and found to be conforming to the requirements of three specific areas: education of doping control in sport; sample collection and detection of prohibited substances (and methods) in sport; result management for anti-doping rule violation.

The certification is valid until November 11, 2024.

In a Facebook post, SEARADO said: “The New Year brought not only presents to all staff of the DCAT Doping Control Agency of Thailand but also a bigger present in the form of DCAT being ISO certified - a first for a National Anti-Doping Organisation in the SEA region.

“SEARADO sends its heartiest congratulations to everyone in DCAT for the hard work put in to achieve the ISO certification. This augurs well for DCAT and, at the same time, it provides all other member countries an opportunity to learn from DCAT on its process to achieve ISO.”
