Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, December 28, 2021: The National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan has announced a children’s drawing competition entitled "To Beijing 2022 with #TEAMKZ!". The best entries will be applied to T-shirts of the national squad that will compete at the Winter Olympics in February.

The competition, which is open to children under the age of 14 years, is similar to the one run by the Kazakhstan NOC in the run-up to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with the NOC collecting the best wishes of the youth of the nation for the athletes who will represent the country at the Beijing Winter Games.

“A similar children’s competition before the Olympic Games in Tokyo was very popular with both the participants and the athletes, who did not take off their children’s wish T-shirts in the Olympic Village,” the Kazakhstan NOC posted on its Facebook page.

“It is noteworthy that we received the largest number of works from the smallest children under six years old from all over Kazakhstan. Thus, the National Olympic Committee not only supports the creative initiatives of children but also draws their attention to the right examples – our Olympians. We always say that champions come from childhood, and this competition is another way to instill Olympic values and show the unity of fans and athletes,” the NOC added.

Entrants need to draw on an A4 sheet in any technique and style with the themes being "My favourite winter sport" and "Winter Olympic Games". The drawing on the back should contain a wish written by the child to the athletes.

The deadline for applications is January 9, 2022. The winner will be announced on January 9 on the Olympic.kz website and the NOC’s official social media accounts.
