Baghdad, Iraq, December 27, 2021: The President of the National Olympic Committee of Iraq, Raad Hammoudi, paid a visit to Iraq’s Minister of Interior, Othman Al-Ghanmi.
The Minister of Interior welcomed the NOC President to his office and the two parties discussed a number of common issues related to the performance of Iraqi athletes.
They also discussed ways in which the Ministry of Interior and the NOC can cooperate in the future over the staging of sports events organised by the Olympic Committee or the national sports federations, as well as high-level Olympic visits to Iraq.
Hammoudi said the Ministry of Interior played a vital role in ensuring security at stadiums, sports facilities and sports institutions and said he was very grateful for this.
The meeting, on December 23, was also attended by the advisor of the Minister of Interior, Mahdi Al-Fakiki.
