Tajikistan NOC congratulates QOC President Sheikh Joaan on re-election

Dushanbe, Tajikistan, December 16, 2021: The Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan, Abdullozoda Ahtam, met with the Qatar Ambassador to Tajikistan, Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Abdullah, on Tuesday, December 14.

Abdullozoda Ahtam expressed satisfaction at the friendly relations between the two NOCs and also conveyed the Tajikistan NOC’s sincere congratulations to HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani, who was re-elected President of the Qatar Olympic Committee last Sunday, December 12.

It was noted that the Government of Qatar had made great strides in the field of sports in recent years, and would continue to host high-profile events like the FIFA World Cup in 2022 and the 2030 Asian Games.

The meeting between the Qatari Ambassador and the senior Tajikistan NOC official touched on the organisation of joint training camps between national teams of Qatar and Tajikistan in a number of sports. 

It was also highlighted that the close cooperation between the two countries has included the construction of a sports facility for athletics in the capital Dushanbe.

Ambassador Ibrahim, who also described bilateral relations between the two Governments as well as the NOCs as friendly, presented the Tajikistan NOC with a guidebook for the 2030 Asian Games in Doha at the end of the meeting.

In return NOC Vice President Abdullozoda presented the Ambassador with a souvenir.
