China to host three Bronze-level meets on World Athletics indoor tour

Monaco, December 10, 2021: Three indoor athletics meets in China have been included on the World Athletics Indoor Tour for 2022. 

The three events are all classed as Category C – Bronze level in the World Athletics Indoor Tour grading system, and make up the three rounds of the Chinese Indoor Tour.

The World Athletics Indoor Tour will offer enhanced competition opportunities next year with its biggest calendar yet, comprising 38 meetings spread across 14 countries in Europe, North America and Asia.

The expanded tour will broaden the geographical spread of meetings around the world and incorporate additional area-level competitions.

The three Chinese Indoor Tour events are:

*Feb. 26-27, 2022: Chinese Indoor Tour Round 1, Sichuan Xipu Training Base, Chengdu (CHN) Category C - Bronze

*March 2-3, 2022: Chinese Indoor Tour Round 2, Sichuan Xipu Training Base, Chengdu (CHN) Category C - Bronze

*March 9-10, 2022: Chinese Indoor Tour Round 3, Shenyang Sports University, Shenyang (CHN) Category C - Bronze

Heading into its seventh season, the World Athletics Indoor Tour will feature seven Gold level meetings in Europe and the United States in 2022, kicking off in Karlsruhe, Germany on January 28 and culminating at Madrid, Spain on March 2.

Each Gold meeting will offer at least USD7,000 in prize money for each individual discipline on the programme, including USD3,000 to the winner.

Silver meetings will award at least USD30,000, with at least USD4,000 per discipline and respecting gender equality, and Bronze meetings will offer at least USD12,000, with at least USD2,500 per discipline and respecting gender equality.
