Bhutan NOC stands with women and sports committee against violence to women

Thimphu, Bhutan, November 26, 2021: The Bhutan Olympic Committee joined with the Women and Sports Committee, Bhutan to mark International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

The awareness campaign aims to prevent and eliminate violence against women and girls around the world. It calls for global action to increase awareness, promote advocacy and create opportunities for discussion on challenges and solutions.

“We, Women and Sports Committee (WSC), to mark this day join the ๐—–๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—ฐ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—–๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ป which was started mid-2020 as a way to promote female empowerment and to speak against femicide,” the Women and Sports Committee, Bhutan posted.

“This challenge also remembers past victims of femicide and violence whose pictures were shared in black-and-white photos of newspapers and to let them know they have sisters around the world.”
