BWF announces integrity case outcome

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, November 5, 2021: Badminton World Federation (BWF) announced the outcome of an integrity case involving two regional level players from China - Zhu Jun Hao and Zhang Bin Rong – on Friday, November 5.

Both players were found to have breached the 2017 BWF Code of Conduct in Relation to Betting, Wagering and Irregular Match Results during tournaments in March 2019.

The hearing concluded in July 2021, with the reasoned decisions of the BWF Independent Hearing Panel (IHP) communicated to the parties.

Zhu and Zhang were suspended from all badminton activities for two years commencing 13 August 2021.

As per the Judicial Procedures, the athletes had the right to appeal the decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) within 21 days of the notice of the reasoned decision.

The players chose not to appeal.
