Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, November 3, 2021: Former President of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan, Temirkhan Dosmukhambetov, passed away on November 1. He was 73.
Dosmukhambetov was one of the founders of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan. He was president of the NOC from 2006 to 2015.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, extended his heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones and said Dosmukhambetov had dedicated his life to work for the benefit of the country.
The Kazakhstan NOC, expressing its deepest condolences to the family and friends, said: “He was an outstanding state and public figure who devoted his life to the development of sports. He stood at the origins of the Olympic movement of independent Kazakhstan.
“He will remain in our memory as a true head of the Olympic family, who treated athletes in a fatherly manner and always cared for their interests. He was a man who devoted all his soul to the sport movement. It is a great loss for the whole national sport.”
