Bhutan NOC celebrates university prize for female boxer

Thimphu, Bhutan, October 22, 2021: The Bhutan Boxing Federation would like to congratulate Tandin Lhamo for winning the University Business Idea Competition 2021, reports the Bhutan Olympic Committee.

Tandin Lhamo won the Border Mission-sponsored competition for her boxing studio idea that attempts to break the stereotype that centres around the sport. Her prize is 10,000 Singapore Dollars (7,437 USD)

“She has been a member of the boxing federation for the past six years and represented the country in various international tournaments,” the boxing federation said.

“She is also the first female boxer in the country and opened her boxing studio in Thimphu this year. She is currently studying at Royal Thimphu College. The federation wishes her all the best for her future endeavours.”

Border Mission is a charitable organisation from Singapore with the aim to serve and empower individuals, families and communities with resources to improve the quality of their lives.
