OCA NOCs invited to Vladivostok for 7th Children of Asia Games 2022

Vladivostok, Russia, October 18, 2021: The Children of Asia Games International Committee has announced that Vladivostok will host the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games from July 27 to August 8, 2022.  

The corresponding agreement was signed between Mr. Vladimir Maksimov, President of the Children of Asia Games International Committee, and Mr. Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of the Primorsky Krai region and Chair of the Local Organising Committee. 

Vladivostok is an administrative, economic, scientific and cultural center of the Russian Far East. Being the capital of Primorsky Krai, Vladivostok also serves as Russia’s gateway to the Asia-Pacific region. 

The best young athletes of the Asian continent will be competing for medals in 19 sports:  

*badminton 

*basketball (3x3) 

*kurash 

*khapsagai wrestling 

*boxing 

*volleyball (beach volleyball) 

*judo 

*athletics 

*mas-wrestling 

*table tennis 

*swimming (including open water swimming) 

*shooting 

*sambo 

*wrestling (freestyle, Greco-Roman) 

*archery 

*dance sports (breaking) 

*taekwondo 

*futsal 

*rhythmic gymnastics. 

Mr. Maksimov said: “I am sure that the Games in Vladivostok will bring bright moments into the glorious history of the development of children's sports and the Children of Asia International Sports Games and will give an additional impetus to the development and a good legacy to Primorsky Krai”. 

Mr. Kozhemyako added: “Vladivostok is experienced in holding not only sports competitions but also major events where the country's top leadership and top officials of the Asia-Pacific region participate. Vladivostok owns all necessary infrastructure for conducting the 7th Children of Asia International Sports Games”. 

Vladivostok, with its fully equipped social and sports infrastructure, is ready to welcome participants and guests from 45 member countries of the Olympic Council of Asia and regions of Russia to the Games in 2022, having been postponed in 2020. 

More than 10,000 athletes have taken part in the previous six editions dating back to 1996 and many of them have become world-class athletes, including Olympic champions. 

The Children of Asia International Sports Games is the only sports competition in Russia held under the patronage of the IOC and supported by the OCA and Russian Olympic Committee.
