Male, Maldives, October 18, 2021: The Maldives Olympic Committee reports that Hussain Jawaz (Jawa) has been appointed Chef de Mission for the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022.
Hussain Jawaz is General Secretary of the Football Association of Maldives and his commitment to Maldives NOC and the Maldives sports industry goes back a long way.
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place from July 28 to August 8, 2022. Sports that will represent Team Maldives will be finalised in early 2022 with a couple of teams eligible for qualification, while some other sports will be included through the open allocation system.
“Maldives NOC would like to congratulate Mr. Jawaz for being appointed CDM for the Games. We have full confidence in him that he will do a great job supporting the Team Maldives contingent at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022,” the NOC said.
