Pakistan NOC congratulates Tania Mallick on women's cricket honour

Lahore, Pakistan, October 3, 2021: The Pakistan Olympic Association said it was delighted by the appointment of Mrs. Tania Mallick as Head of Women’s Cricket, Pakistan Cricket Board.

Pakistan Olympic Association President Lt. Gen (retd.) Syed Arif Hasan and Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood have congratulated her and offered their best wishes on the new assignment of Mallick, who is serving as a member of POA’s Education and Women’s Commission.

Mallick, 52, was appointed as Pakistan Cricket Board’s new Head of Women’s Cricket last Friday, October 1. 

The former national badminton champion has a Master’s degree from the Lahore University of Management Sciences. She represented Pakistan in the Seoul 1986 Asian Games and was national champion in 1987-88.

“She is the vice-president of the Punjab Olympic Association since 2010, vice-president of the Punjab Squash Association and is currently serving as a member of the Pakistan Olympic Association’s Education and Women’s Commission," a press release issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board said.

Her appointment comes two weeks after former Pakistan captain Rameez Raja became the new PCB chairman after being elected unanimously and unopposed on September 13.
