Chengdu, China, September 24, 2021: The latest round of the Asian Games 10 Cities Tour with Geely was held in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on Friday, September 24.
An afternoon and evening of events and festivities highlighted the fifth leg of the 10 Cities Tour, which is being sponsored by Asian Games Prestige Partner Geely Auto to promote the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou from September 10-25, 2022.
The programme began at 2pm with a meeting between executives of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC) and the local organising committee of the 31st FISU (International University Sports Federation) World University Games - Summer, which will be held in Chengdu from June 26 to July 7, 2022.
The meeting was held in the newly built Chengdu Museum and the two parties discussed planning and preparation for a major international multi-sport event and exchanged ideas. Some local citizens were invited to attended the meeting in order to further promote both Games.
In the evening, the Asian Games Fun Run started in one of the must-visit attractions of Chengdu – Jiaozi Park.
The 200 runners included Sichuan-born gymnast Feng Zhe, a multiple gold medallist in the Olympic Games, World Championships and Asian Games in team and parallel bars.
After the Fun Run, a music show featuring songs from the Asian Games 2022 Music Campaign was held in Tianfu Square, Chengdu, to round off an entertaining day on the latest stop on the nationwide Asian Games 10 Cities Tour.
