Male, Maldives, September 21, 2021: The Maldives Olympic Committee reports that swimming Olympian Aminath Shajan has arrived safely in Belgium to pursue her Master of Arts in Sports Ethics and Integrity (MAiSI) joint master degree.

Shajan, 27, was offered placement at the KU Leuven university to complete the MAiSI upon qualifying for a fully funded scholarship by Olympic Solidarity.

The world-leading Erasmus Mundus MAiSI is a two-year full-time postgraduate programme that is delivered by six prestigious European universities.

The programme concentrates on the development of ethical sports cultures and structures, and the development of tools for sports integrity education and compliance.

“Maldives Olympic Committee wishes all the best to Ms. Shajan, and hopes to see her contribution to the sports industry once she completes the programme,” the MOC said in a statement.

Shajan competed at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
