Yemen Olympic Committee sends best wishes to Hangzhou 2022 for successful Asian Games

Sana’a, Yemen, September 15, 2021: The Yemen Olympic Committee is the latest National Olympic Committee in Asia to receive and officially acknowledge the invitation letter to attend the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September 2022.

The Secretary General of the Yemen Olympic Committee, Mr Mohamed Abdullah Al-Ahjri, in a post on the NOC’s Facebook page thanked the Hangzhou Asian Games organisers for the invitation and confirmed Yemen’s participation for the September 10-25, 2022 showpiece.

“We welcome this invitation and we wish the organisers of the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China success in hosting one of the biggest sporting events that takes place every four years and is held under the umbrella of the Olympic Council of Asia,” the YOC Secretary General said.

This will be the ninth successive time that Yemen will take part at the Asian Games, beginning from Beijing 1990, followed by Hiroshima 1994, Bangkok 1998, Busan 2002, Doha 2006, Guangzhou 2010, Incheon 2014 and Jakarta and Palembang 2018.

The Yemen NOC urged all the national sports federations in the country to prepare its athletes to compete in Hangzhou next year.

In order to promote the 19th Asian Games in Asia and globally, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee sent a package of gifts and merchandise to all 45 Asian NOCs and asked them to post photos and videos on their social media platforms to highlight the event.
