Male, Maldives, September 15, 2021: The Maldives Olympic Committee’s top management met with the Maldives Sports Corporation to officially introduce the new Executive Committee and to discuss the long-term plans of both institutions.
The Maldives Sports Corporation reported that “fruitful discussions” were held with the senior officials of the Maldives Olympic Committee regarding the development of the sports sector.
“This includes developing strategies to cater for the current and future usage of sports facilities, also sports infrastructure development projects collaboratively for the sustainable development of sports,” the MSC reported.
The Maldives Sports Corporation Ltd was established by the President of Maldives under the Maldives Sports Act in 2016 and is tasked with developing sports facilities across the nation and to empower and engage the sporting community and cater to all age groups.
*The President and Vice Presidents of Maldives Olympic Committee also met with the Sports Commissioner to introduce the new Executive Committee. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General and Financial Director of MOC.
The purpose of the meeting was to identify ways in which both organisations can work collaboratively to align the long-term plans.
