Bahrain NOC welcomes Korean Ambassador and calls for continued 'brotherly relations' in sports

Manama, Bahrain, September 14, 2021: The Secretary General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, HE Mohammed Hasan Al Nusuf, met South Korea’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Chung Hae Kwan, at the headquarters of the NOC on Monday, September 13.

Welcoming the Korean Ambassador, the NOC Secretary General praised the deep “brotherly relations” between the two countries at different levels and areas, especially in sports, and the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination in the interests of both parties.

Hasan Al Nusuf also dwelled on the participation of both countries at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics during the COVID-19 pandemic and praised the outstanding achievements of both teams.

On the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in sports it was decided to strengthen communication channels and coordination between the Korean embassy in Bahrain and the NOC as well as to exchange sports experiences.

The Korean Ambassador commended Bahrain sports at regional, continental and international level, and said his country was open to giving a helping hand to Bahrain by sharing sports knowledge and experience particularly in sports like taekwondo.

At the end of the meeting, the Korean Ambassador expressed his sincere thanks to His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, and applauded the close ties between the NOC and his country. He also thanked Secretary General Al Nusuf for the warm hospitality displayed at the meeting and wished Bahrain sports more progress and success.
