Hangzhou 2022 prepares for CDM Seminar milestone

Hangzhou, China, August 30, 2021: Organisers of the Olympic Council of Asia’s 19th Asian Games are preparing to host another major milestone on the road to Hangzhou 2022.

In a letter to the National Olympic Committees, the Mayor of Hangzhou, Liu Xin, has issued an official invitation to attend the all-important Chefs de Mission Seminar for leaders of the delegations.

Due to travel restrictions caused by the ongoing pandemic, the CDM Seminar will be held on line over two days – September 8 and 9.

The seminar will be part of the one-year countdown celebrations to the 19th Asian Games, which will run from September 10-25, 2022 in Hangzhou – capital city of Zhejiang province in eastern China.

Liu Xin, who is also Vice President and Secretary General of organising committee HAGOC, invites all the National Olympic Committees to join the CDM Seminar video conference.

“On the occasion of the one-year-countdown to the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, and on behalf of the Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee (HAGOC), I would like to cordially invite all National Olympic Committees taking part in the upcoming Asian Games to join us for the Chefs de Mission Seminar for Hangzhou 2022,” says the Hangzhou Mayor.

The CDM Seminar will take place on the afternoon (Beijing time) of both days, and HAGOC looks forward to updating all participants on the progress and preparations.

“The Chefs de Mission Seminar is a milestone event on our journey to the Games,” adds Liu Xin.

“Firstly, the seminar will provide National Olympic Committees with information on the host city of Hangzhou, as well as the Organising Committee’s policies and procedures with regard to the Games.

“Secondly, it will enable us to better understand the needs of athletes, team officials and other Games participants, which will ensure a satisfying Games experience for all.”

HAGOC has also sent the CDM Seminar schedule together with Meeting Guide. NOCs can also visit the NOC-dedicated extranet, Hangzhou 2022NOCnet for more information.

“Thank you for your continued support of Hangzhou 2022. We are confident that, through our combined efforts, the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will be held as scheduled and be a great success. I look forward to seeing you all in Hangzhou in 2022. Hangzhou welcomes you,” he concludes.
