Cambodia looks to add to Asian Games gold tally at Hangzhou 2022

Phnom Penh, Cambodia, August 26, 2021: The Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, Vath Chamroeun, says Cambodia is fully prepared to join the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China in September 2022.

The NOCC official, who is also Secretary General of the CAMSOC organising committee for the 32nd South East Asian Games in Phnom Penh in 2023, has announced that the NOCC has received the official invitation letter to compete in Hangzhou.

“Cambodia is ready to join the 19th Asian Games. See you at Hangzhou 2022,” he said.

The 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 will run for 16 days from September 10-25, 2022 in Hangzhou - capital city of Zhejiang province in eastern China.

At the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia, in 2018, Cambodia won two gold medals and one bronze.

The gold medals came from Jessa Khan in women’s jujitsu and from Saly Ou Mouet in jet ski. Saly also won a bronze.

Cambodia’s first Asian Games gold came at Incheon 2014 through taekwondo athlete Sorn Seavmey.
