Lausanne, Switzerland, August 26, 2021: Some of India’s most inspirational players from Tokyo 2020 have been included in the shortlist for the International Hockey Federation’s FIH Hockey Stars Awards 2020-21.
Nominations for the women’s player of the year include Gurjit Kaur, while in the men’s award the list includes Harmanpreet Singh.
As for the FIH Goalkeeper of the Year Awards, Savita (women) and Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh (men) are both under consideration.
Players, coaches, media and fans can begin to register their votes from Monday, August 23 to Wednesday, September 15.
Votes from National Associations, represented by their respective national captains and coaches, will count for 50% of the overall result, while fans and players (25%) as well as media (25%) will make the other half of the votes.
The shortlists for the eight awards are:
FIH Player of the Year Awards

FIH Goalkeeper of the Year Awards
Women: Maddie Hinch (GBR/ENG), Savita (IND), Belén Succi (ARG)
Men: Andrew Charter (AUS), Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh (IND), Vincent Vanasch (BEL).
FIH Rising Star of the Year Awards
Women: Fiona Crackles (GBR/ENG), Sharmila Devi (IND), Valentina Raposo (ARG)
Men: Mustaphaa Cassiem (RSA), Sean Findlay (NZL), Vivek Prasad (IND)
FIH Coach of the Year Awards
