Colombo, Sri Lanka, July 12, 2021: Army Commander General Shavendra Silva, Chairman of the National Sports Selection Committee, felicitated Team Sri Lanka before their departure to Tokyo for the Olympic Games.
On behalf of Team Sri Lanka, Olympian Niluka Karunaratne and shooter Tehani Egodawela accepted the honour along with Mr. Suresh Subramaniam, President of NOC Sri Lanka, and Mr. Pradeep Edirisinghe, official of Team Sri Lanka.

The design concept incorporates the colours of the Sri Lankan flag and the mane of the lion, representing boldness and bravery for Sri Lanka’s Olympic athletes.
The clothing was produced using fabric developed and knitted in Sri Lanka and has been created to be stylish, functional and comfortable.
