Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam hands SAR flag to Olympic delegation

Hong Kong, China, July 9, 2021: The flag presentation ceremony of the Hong Kong, China delegation to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games was held at Government House on Thursday, July 8.

The guest of honour was the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, and Ms. Lu Xinning, Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the HKSAR.

They were accompanied by Mr. Caspar Tsui Ying-wai, Secretary for Home Affairs, and in the presence of other distinguished guests from the Government and supporting parties.

The HKSAR flag was presented to Timothy Fok, President of the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, Chef de Mission Pui Kwan Kay and Ronnie Wong, Secretary General of the SF&OC.

Hong Kong will be sending a delegation of 97 to Tokyo, including 46 athletes in 13 sports: aquatics (including marathon swimming), athletics, badminton, cycling (road and track), equestrian, fencing, golf, gymnastics, karate, rowing, sailing (including windsurfing), table tennis and triathlon.
