Seoul, Korea, June 30, 2021: Korean Sport & Olympic Committee (KSOC) signed an official sponsorship agreement for sunglasses on Wednesday, June 30 at the Olympic Culture Center in Songpa-gu, Seoul.
The agreement was signed by KSOC President Lee Kee-Heung and Luxottica Korea Ltd CEO Alessio Ferraresso.
The KSOC selected Oakley as a sponsor for the first time in the sunglasses category. Oakley will provide sunglasses and goggles to the Team Korea athletes participating in the Olympic Games and Asian Games through to the end of 2024.
With this sponsorship contract, Oakley plans to continue sponsoring more athletes in various ways for the development of sports with the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to be held next month.
President Lee said: “I greatly appreciate the generous support from Oakley to allow Team Korea to participate in the Games where sunglasses are very necessary. I hope this is an opportunity for everyone to unite and cheer for a safe and competitive future.”
CEO Ferraresso added: “We will support Team Korea fully to enhance their performance during these meaningful Games.”
Oakley is a global sports brand that presents high-performance eyewear with an original design and is expanding its scope into a comprehensive sports brand.
Oakley continues to support various athletes in Korea, including Jin Jong-Oh (shooting), Kim Hyun-Soo and Lee Jeong-Hoo (baseball), Na A-Reum and Lee Hye-Jin (cyclists) and Ko Jin-Young (golf).
Together with its official sponsor, Oakley, the KSOC is also planning to carry out various marketing activities for Team Korea.
