Bahrain mourns football legend Ahmed bin Salmeen

Manama, Bahrain, June 30, 2021: The President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, has thanked His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for the royal order to name the road adjacent to Muharraq Football Club after the late football star Ahmed bin Salmeen.

HH Sheikh Khalid, who is the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and also General Sports Authority (GSA) Chief, praised His Majesty the King’s appreciation of prominent Bahraini personalities who served the nation in all sectors, especially the sports fields.

His Majesty sent a telegram of condolence to the family of the late national team player and praised his contributions to the country and the Muharraq Club. His achievements at local, regional and Gulf levels earned him legendary status and will continue to inspire football players of all ages.
