Pakistan NOC presents packed programme for Olympic Day

Lahore, Pakistan, June 28, 2021: The Pakistan Olympic Association organised a number of events across the country last week to celebrate Olympic Day 2021.

In Lahore, a table tennis competition was held at Bagh-e-Jinnah featuring a number of national players and many young children of all ages. The event was held in collaboration with the Pakistan Table Tennis Federation, Punjab Olympic Association and Punjab Table Tennis Association.

Shaukat Javed, Vice President of the Pakistan Olympic Association, graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Olympic Association organised an Olympic Day Run in Peshawar. Athletes from a number of sports including badminton, kabaddi, taekwondo, swimming and weightlifting participated in the event. An exhibition kabaddi match was also held.

A painting competition was also held earlier last week at Pakistan Olympic House with many young children taking part by sending in their drawings. An interactive session was conducted where the winners in various categories interacted with POA President Lt Gen (R) Syed Arif Hasan.

A tree planting and Olympic Day Run was also held by the Provincial Sports Associations of Balochistan at Quetta.

Other community projects included beach and sea cleaning at Karachi.
