Male, Maldives, June 17, 2021: The Maldives Olympic Committee has congratulated Ahmed Shiham on being appointed as a badminton technical official at the Tokyo Olympics.
“Wishing Mr Ahmed Shiham all the best in Tokyo Olympics 2020,” the NOC said in a message posted on its Facebook page on Tuesday, June 15.
Shiham has been selected as one of 20 technical officials appointed by the Badminton World Federation. This is the second time that a Maldivian will be officiating in badminton at the Olympic Games.
Maldives will also be represented by an athlete in badminton in Tokyo with Naba Abdul Razzaq taking part in the women’s singles event. Naba, an Olympic Solidarity scholarship athlete, was awarded a Tripartite Commission invitation.
