Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, June 15, 2021: The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) will be releasing RM382,000 (USD 93,000) this week to assist its 54 affiliates meet the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As the nation moves into the extended FMCO (Full Movement Control Order) phase, OCM President Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Norza Zakaria - in recognising the unprecedented challenge brought about by the extended lockdown and the Covid-19 crisis - has called upon the OCM Trust Management Committee to consider a fourth assistance package to the 54 National Sports Associations affiliated to the OCM.

“I am thankful to the members of the OCM Trust Management Committee for approving this important initiative for the benefit of all our members.

“This demonstrates our solidarity and commitment during these difficult times,” said Tan Sri Norza, who is also Chair of the OCM Trust Management Committee, in a statement dated June 14.

This fund will be made available to all OCM affiliates and aims to alleviate their administrative expenses at a time when the cancellation of and inability to organise events in particular have affected revenue streams.
