Dili, Timor-Leste, June 15, 2021: The leaders of the Timor-Leste National Olympic Committee delegation heading for the Olympic Games in Tokyo next month held a meeting with the Japanese Embassy to coordinate the pre-Games training camp.
Ms. Seiko Toyama, First Secretary of the Japanese Embassy, discussed the preparations for the training camp with the Chef de Mission and Secretary General of NOC Timor-Leste. The camp will take place at Ina City, Nagano prefecture.
Ms. Seiko updated the Timor-Leste delegation about the willingness of the Mayor of Ina City and the local people on welcoming the team.
The Ina City organising committee will provide training facilities and accommodation for the Timor-Leste delegation for one week. Timor-Leste and Japan have enjoyed good relations since Timor-Leste gained its independence in 1999.
Timor-Leste will send three athletes to Tokyo – two in swimming and one in athletics.
