Thimphu, Bhutan, June 15, 2021: The Bhutan Olympic Committee and the Royal University of Bhutan jointly announced on Monday, June 14, that they will offer 10 sports scholarships for the academic year 2021.
Five of these scholarships will be for any Tertiary Education Programmes at the Royal University of Bhutan while the other five will be at the Paro College of Education to pursue a diploma in sports and physical education.
The aim of the Bhutan Olympic Committee is to encourage deserving young persons who demonstrate the highest level of achievement and potential in sports, and give them an opportunity to pursue their academic dreams while also enabling them to participate actively in sports.
The scholarship will cover all tuition and boarding costs for three or four years in any Tertiary Education Programmes at the University, and two years at the Paro College of Education.
The Bhutan Olympic Committee has stated that preference will be given to national athletes who have represented the country.
The deadline for submission of applications is June 22.
