Muscat, Oman, June 14, 2021: Employees of the Oman Olympic Committee underwent a two-day course on event management in sports last week.
The Oman Olympic Academy conducted the online seminar which was attended by 15 participants including employees of the Oman Olympic Committee, officials from national sport federations, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and military affiliates.
Dr. Abdul Rahim bin Muslim Al Daroushi, assistant professor of Sports Administration and Sports Policy at the College of Education at Sultan Qaboos University, conducted the seminar.
The seminar included many topics revolving around how to organise and manage sporting events, and how to use volunteer programmes in running such competitions. Participants also learned how to market sporting events and to be a consummate host.
