IOC EB proposes Brisbane as Olympic Games host in 2032

Lausanne, Switzerland, June 10, 2021: The International Olympic Committee Executive Board has unanimously proposed to the IOC Session that Brisbane, Australia, host the Games of the XXXV Olympiad in 2032.

The 138th IOC Session, meeting in Tokyo on July 21, will vote on the proposal from the IOC EB.

It comes after the IOC Future Host Commission submitted a report to the EB on its Targeted Dialogue with Brisbane 2032, which was opened on 24 February.

Brisbane 2032 is the first "Preferred Host" under the IOC's new approach to host city elections.

"Sport is seen by many governments around the world as essential to the long-term development of their countries and regions," IOC President Thomas Bach said.

"The Brisbane 2032 Olympic project shows how forward-thinking leaders recognise the power of sport as a way to achieve lasting legacies for their communities."
